The answer to this question depends on platform and operating conditions.
On Mac OS it is widely agreed that Safari is the faster of the two browsers, while on the iPhone it is more comparable. On Windows, Chrome is much faster, as the latest versions of Apple's web browser are not available for that operating system. On Mac, while the browser is running, click Safari in the top left hand corner.

Find and activate the Safari update
You may not see this dialog box, depending on your User Account Control settings. When the installation is finished, a dialog box displays the status of the installation. You can set the Apple Software Update program to automatically check for updates and notify you when updates are available. To do this, select Preferences from the Edit menu.
